This is our friend Jackie Lewis in the church who owns the Lewis Strawberry farm here in town. Several of the kids from the youth group have worked for her over the years. This was Ruthie's first big outing (besides Target). After the photo...she ate the strawberry with her gums.

"Blood Diamonds"

I've been renting a bunch of movies for the first time in my life since we are home more than i've ever been. I rented Blood Diamonds but couldn't watch it until all the ladies were asleep. This movie opened my eyes to an issue that I wasn't aware of. The movie is pretty hardcore gore like Hotel Ruwanda. It is "Hollywood Action Flic meets Social Action Documentary". Djimon Hounsou (Amistad) is brilliant as a fisherman father whose family has been devistated by the war over diamonds. This is a movie worth renting if you can watch "violent" flics.

MORAL OF THE STORY- Our greed for money and things not only effects those around us...but has the potential to ravage countries until there is nothing left. Today 98% of all diamonds are "non-conflict" which means they were not purchased in areas where this type of injustice is happening.

This movie made me wonder what other areas has our greed created this type of conflice/war. Oil? Coffee?

Ruthie has been a blessing!! She has been sleeping and eating well and doesn't really fuss.....yet. Grandma Hollywood has been an enormous help as she takes care of the baby and laundry. Several people have stopped bye; Wrenn and Katie have been a big help, Dorothy and Margo Lewis came over last night to name a few.
I am the Recreation Director and Blogger of this project, therefore we will get outside today for a little stroll with all the ladies and i will then document the event on the blog.

Here are the first of many pictures. We are finally home from the hospital and all is well. Ruthie is advanced for her age....she can already smoke a cigar to celebrate her own birth. Thanks for your prayers.
My mom is here for 3 weeks to help out around the house.

Kim has begun the "labor process"....looks like we will be going to the hospital today.
She is over 3 centimeters and the contractions are getting more frequent.

....just when my life can't get any better with the birth of my daughter happening in the next few weeks.....my life get's much better....to be honest, I'm complete.

My mother just called me and said that she took a boy from our hometown to visit a film school in LA this afternoon. She gets in the school and there are only a few people on the tour.....and one of the families was the flippin' HASSELHOFFS!!!
Or shall I say Lt. Mitch Buchanon or Michael Knight. Apparently Hobie or Kitt were not there. Please pray for my Dad, he was in the library while mom was flirting with LT. Mitch. Hopefully they can work things out.
