The Presidential Inauguartion

Ruthie decided to "dress up" for the Presidential Inauguration.  She wanted her clothes off, a purple necklace on, hat and gloves like everyone on the TV, and an American flag which I had to dig out of the 4th of July box.  She kept saying, "Obama, big deal." and  "So many!"  refering to the crowd of people.   What a patriotic little soul.  Notice how she has tucked the
flag into her diaper.
Intently watching everyone get into their limos.  Pre gloves and hat.
She likes to pretend she is going to visit her Aunt Ebbie and Uncle Chad.  She repeats their names over and over, puts doggie, blanket and washie in a plastic bag and says "bye, airplane, be careful."   She hides in between the glass door and the real door and acts like she is gone.  Then bursts out and says "I'm home! Shopping, Ebbie, hairbows."
One of Ruth's favorite past times is standing on the porch railing and watching the world go by.  She makes doggie and her washies stand on the railing too.
Playing Rummi Cube in her bathing suit.  Ruth's version is seperating all the tiles into colors on the trays.

Random Christmas Pics

We hope everyone had a great Christmas!  Happy New Year!
We went to the zoo for their annual holiday lights!
It was pretty cold!  This is Ruthie and her friend Spence.
Watch out Nate!
We had a Happy Birthday Jesus party complete with crafts, snacks, and cupcakes.
I only got 3 pictures and Ruthie isn't looking in any of them.
We opened the new kitchen from Grandma Guthrie and Paw-Paw early so we could play with it before we left for Missouri.
There was an interactive nativity near our house.  Ruthie loved Mary, Joseph, and baby Jesus!
There were tons of animals too.  We finally had to pull Ruthie away after being outside for 45 minutes.
We made cookies for Santa and left carrots for the reindeer.
Opening the last "day door"
PRESENTS!!!  Ruthie opened this and said, "The whole world!"
Stickers, a "rina dress", and a new scarf for Ruthie and Baby!
Ruthie had a wonderful time with Nate's family.
Grandma Deb loved her Ben and Ruthie time.
She was spoiled by Great Grandpa and Grandma Gable and all the great aunts, uncles and cousins.
Took the traditional trip to the Bass Pro Shop.
This is not a mistake...Ruthie continues to dress up and we have to pretend trick or treat even in January.
Mommy's weak attempt at a snowman!

Snowsuit and Shades

Ruthie takes a break from making pretend cupcakes to dance with her Daddy.
They are jammin' to some crazy techno Chritmas song Nate found.  Notice the chip in hand.
(There is a video of this one, but I am having trouble downloading it.  Still trying.)

It took us 30 minutes to put on our snow gear.  Ruthie just wanted to wear her jacket and boots with no clothes underneath.  There were a few tears when Mommy insisted she wear more.

ATTENTION!

She loved crawling in the snow.
Even though there were tears before we went out and tears when we had to come in, all in all it was a successfully snow day.

Bible Study with Doggie

Ruth crawled up on my bed with Doggie and her pocket Bible.  She then pretended to read the Bible to Doggie.  Notice Doggie has a hairbow too.

She pushed Doggie's face into the pages.

Happy Almost Birthday Jesus!

Ruthie found her Little People Manger Scene that I wasn't planning to get out until after Thanksgiving.  She was screaming "BABY JESUS!! HAPPY BIRTHDAY!" at the box so I gave in and got it out.  She has loved it and even brought baby Jesus to have lunch with her.  She put him on a chair and said, "Sit down, baby Jesus".  She insisted that I give baby Jesus some of her bread and green beans.  She also kept pointing her sippy cup at him and making a slurping sound pretending she was giving him something to drink.  Ruthie loves her some baby Jesus!

Random

The high today was 37, but it was very windy and the windchill was 24.  So Ruth got a chance to wear her winter hat to MOPS.  She calls it "ball hat" because of the ball on top.  She loved it so much she wore it all day.

This afternoon Ruth told me she was going to church.  She put two babies in the stroller, got 2 bottles and 2 fake cookies for their snack, and a toy for each one.  She then got a purse and put a pocket size Bible inside.   Where do you think she learned this one?

Ruthie making her first batch of JELLO pudding.
Ruthie after feeding herself.  Look at those lips!

Two Peas in a Pod

Our friend Spence's mommy had a baby today, so Ruthie got to spend the whole day with Spence.  They had fun playing hide-n-seek in the cabinets!  Too cute!

Happy Halloween!

HAPPY HALLOWEEN!
I was very nervous because Ruth wouldn't put on her costume all month.  We tried several different ones and she would scream when we would try to put them on.   After she saw everyone else in a costume she ran to put hers on and wore it all night!

Grandma Deb came to visit!
Showing off her Halloween outfit...even doggie has a hairbow.  Thanks Grandma and Grandpa Guthrie!
Reading Clifford no less
Ruthie was very interested in carving the pumpkin.

We had my mom's annual Halloween party complete with her chili.

Our friend Martha Stewart...I mean Hartley... made great desserts.
So cute!
Here are just a few of the costumes...

"Pumpkin Pie"

The kids loved the bubble machine!
The boys cooking hot dogs over the fire.
Going trick-or-treating... Ruthie did a great job saying "trick-or-treat" and "thank-you".  She got a little excited at one house and went inside.  There were too many people on the porch for me to reach her.  It was pretty funny.  The weather was perfect...seeing that it usually snows here on Halloween.
Spence and Ruthie on to the next house.
Reese cups...Mommy and Daddy's favorite too.
We had a great time and can't wait for next year!
